Breathe deep
Before bed, take slow deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Relax your shoulders.
Think of a place you find relaxing and imagine yourself there – here's to the end of a long hard day!

This is another thing that I just don’t think about – like having a good stretch during the day or making sure everything is in easy reach, I don’t really pay much attention to how relaxed I am before I go to sleep.
I made sure I took a few minutes before getting into bed to do the slow breathing and calm myself down by thinking of somewhere peaceful. My happy-place was quite stereotypical: green meadow, sunshine, bunny rabbits.
I can see how being properly relaxed before trying to get to sleep could have benefits in terms of the quality of sleep you get and not having your muscles all tense during the night.
