Squats
Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your back straight, bend your knees in a squat, then straighten them again.
Hold in your tummy muscles for support. Repeat 15 times.

Even though the toning and stretching exercises are valuable, I much prefer the ones that get my heart rate going, because they make me feel like I’ve achieved much more towards getting fit. Today’s squats were another example, like running up and down the stairs and the brisk walking.
This was a good activity to choose for the weekend, because I could do it in my own time rather than having to fit it in once I was home from work – which isn’t my most motivated time of day!
The squats are definitely something I could see myself doing regularly.
