Side stretches
Adopt the position pictured, reach over your head, bending to the side at your waist and then straighten up.
Swap sides and repeat 10 times.

Today’s exercise was a bit ‘Jane Fonda’ and I should probably have donned some leg warmers and sweatbands to really get into the 1980s aerobics spirit.
I assume this is another toning exercise and I felt it working on my abdominal muscles whenever I straightened up. I made sure I kept my stomach muscles tensed the whole time so that my spine was properly supported – see, I’m learning!
I also gave myself a little pat on the back for getting to halfway through my super-healthy January.
