Exercise appetiser
Before settling down to lunch or dinner today, walk up and down the stairs a few times.
If you don’t have stairs, march on the spot for three minutes.
Gentle exercise before eating will get your heart rate going and burn calories.

I had a vegetable stir-fry for dinner, which made me feel quite virtuous. Add in some exercise beforehand and I felt positively saintly!
Today’s activity was a good way to make up for the stair climbing day when I didn’t feel that I’d done anything different to my usual routine, because it gave me another way to use the stairs at the flat to burn some extra calories.
There are 22 steps leading from the front door to my flat and I went up and down them five times. It was surprisingly tiring! I was quite out of breath by the time I’d finished but it was good to do something a bit more energetic than just stretches or toning exercises.
